The name of this supplement contains the word Bombay, which is the older Portuguese name of the city. It is not retained in the new supplement Mumbai Mirror that comes with Times of India.

Mumbai Mirror is a compact newspaper in the city of Mumbai, with a daily circulation of approximate 700,000 copies. Its first issue was published on 30 May 2005 by the Times Group, the publishers of The Times of India newspaper.

The newspaper was launched at the Gateway of India by Vilasrao Deshmukh, the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Abhishek Bachchan on 29 May 2005 in an elaborate ceremony. Mumbai Mirror now has sister editions like Pune Mirror, Ahmedabad Mirror and Bangalore Mirror.
